Project Manager - FDOT / Road & Infrastructure (Traffic Division)

Position Overview

Conti LLC's Road & Infrastructure Division is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support and lead FDOT roadway and traffic infrastructure projects in the Orlando market.

This role is responsible for the full lifecycle management of active projects, including operational planning, scheduling, budgeting, field coordination, client communication, and project close-out. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing FDOT projects involving traffic signals, highway lighting, ITS, signing, tolling, and roadway systems.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Operational Management
  • Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of assigned projects
  • Establish, maintain, and adjust work sequences and schedules to ensure timely project delivery
  • Coordinate execution strategies with field supervision, general superintendents, and specialty crews
  • Participate in internal scheduling and operations coordination meetings

Contract, Budget & Cost Control
  • Review FDOT and construction contract documents to ensure constructability, scope clarity, and accuracy
  • Review baseline construction budgets including labor hours, equipment, and material costs
  • Monitor and track productivity and job costs using company tools and reporting systems
  • Conduct material take-offs and assist with small estimating activities related to assigned projects

Change Orders & Claims
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate small change orders
  • Prepare and negotiate claims with the Prime Contractor or Client, as required

Field & Resource Coordination
  • Coordinate allocation of field personnel, equipment, and resources for assigned projects
  • Work closely with ITS, drilled shaft, and specialty crews to maximize productivity and efficiency
  • Assist field crews and field management to ensure timely completion of work

Administrative & Technical Support
  • Prepare and/or review submittals, RFIs, and close-out documentation
  • Coordinate material ordering and release schedules
  • Support compliance with project documentation and contract requirements

Required Experience & Knowledge
  • Proven experience managing FDOT roadway and infrastructure projects
  • Strong background in one or more of the following:
    • Highway lighting
    • Traffic signalization
    • Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
    • Signing and pavement markings
    • Tolling infrastructure
  • Working knowledge of FDOT standards, specifications, and project delivery processes
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience managing transportation DOT projects
  • Ability to work collaboratively with field personnel, clients, inspectors, and internal leadership
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously
