Job Description
The Project Manager leads multiple concurrent healthcare design and construction projects across PIH Health's hospital campuses and medical office buildings. Responsible for managing projects from initiation through closeout, this role ensures scope, schedule, budget, quality, and regulatory compliance objectives are met while integrating sustainability and technology considerations. The Project Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams including Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Contracts, Finance, Governance, FF&E, Clinical Operations, and Information Technology, applying AEC Best Practices and PMI-aligned methodologies to deliver safe, efficient, and future-ready environments for patient care. The role also engages external partners, technical design and engineering consultants, construction teams, and public agencies with jurisdiction (HCAI).
Required Skills
• Advanced portfolio and project management skills using PMI/PMBOK methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare design and construction regulations, methodologies, and workflows.
• Ability to develop project charters, WBS, integrated schedules, and risk control plans.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Smartsheet, and other PMO software.
• Strong communication and leadership skills to influence and guide diverse teams.
• Knowledge of procurement and contract administration principles.
• Understanding of sustainability standards and energy efficiency practices.
Required Experience
Required:
• Valid CA Driver's License required upon hire
• 8-10 years of relevant project management experience, including a minimum of five years in healthcare planning, design, construction management, and Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) experience
• Knowledge of AIA contract forms for design, construction, and facilities management applications
Preferred:
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience as owner representative in healthcare organization.
• Experience with inpatient acute care and ambulatory healthcare facilities.
• Licensed professional engineer or architect.
• Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, project management, business administration, or related field or master's degree in project management, Business Administration, or Engineering.
