Someone has to own every detail. That's you.DuraServ is looking for a Project Manager who takes extreme ownership of capital improvement projects - coordinating people, freight, schedules, budgets, and subcontractors across every phase from award to completion.
This Role Has Full Ownership. Not Partial. Full.DuraServ executes capital improvement projects for commercial facilities across the country - dock and door installations, large-scale equipment programs, and multi-site projects that require precise coordination of subcontractors, freight, storage, manufacturing, billing, and field execution. When these projects go right, clients renew. When they go wrong, executive leadership hears about it.
As Project Manager, you own your assigned projects end to end - from the initial project plan and budget through installation scheduling, subcontractor coordination, risk assessment, freight logistics, and final delivery. You're the liaison between billing, proposals, sales, manufacturing, distributors, and installing subcontractors. You're the escalation point for the customer. And you're expected to show up to every conversation with executive leadership having complete command of your projects.
If extreme ownership isn't just a phrase you've heard - it's how you actually operate - this role was built for you. What You'll OwnThe Project- Create and maintain project plans, budgets, optimized installation route plans, and detailed production and shipping schedules - every document current, every milestone tracked
- Negotiate and schedule all freight, storage, equipment, and installation for assigned projects - you coordinate the moving parts so the installation team can execute without friction
- Conduct risk assessments, report identified risks to management, and provide actionable recommendations for mitigation - you see the problem before it becomes one
- Maintain full transparency across all project work - your projects are never a mystery to the people who need to know their status
The Relationships- Act as the liaison between billing, proposals, sales, manufacturing, distributors, and installing subcontractors - you are the single point of coordination that keeps every party aligned and moving
- Maintain high availability for installing subcontractors and customer escalation support - when a problem surfaces in the field, you're reachable and you respond with solutions
- Develop strong working relationships with every member of the project team while consistently driving overall project expectations - people trust you because you deliver what you say you will
- Interact directly with executive leadership on assigned projects - you present with confidence, communicate clearly, and never walk into a room without knowing exactly where your projects stand
Who You AreYou don't manage projects by waiting for status updates. You know the status because you built the schedule, set the expectations, and followed up before anyone had to ask.
- An ownership-oriented operator - you take responsibility for outcomes, not just activities; if something on your project is off track, you're already working on the fix
- Mechanically and mathematically inclined - you're innately good with numbers, comfortable reading technical specs, and quick to understand the product or project you're managing
- An organized communicator - your project plans are clean, your schedules are current, and your stakeholders always know where things stand without having to chase you
- A skilled negotiator and coordinator - you manage freight carriers, subcontractors, and vendors with the same professional persistence you bring to internal conversations
- Analytically sharp - you build and read project schedules, identify variances early, and translate data into decisions that keep the project on track
- Comfortable with travel - 50%+ of your time is on the road and in the field; you don't just manage remotely, you show up
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with experience using MS Project or similar project management software
What We're Looking ForRequired- Bachelor's degree required
- 3+ years of related and/or industry experience in project coordination, capital projects, or a similar operational role
- Demonstrated ability to manage multi-party projects involving subcontractors, freight logistics, manufacturing, and field execution simultaneously
- Willingness and ability to travel 50%+ of the time as dictated by project needs
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for project documentation, scheduling, and communication
Preferred- 1-2 years of capital engineering or project-based experience in commercial construction, industrial services, or dock and door installation
- Experience using MS Project or comparable project management software for scheduling and budget tracking
- Background managing subcontractor relationships and freight/logistics coordination on multi-site capital projects
What's in It for You- Competitive compensation commensurate with experience
- Full benefits package: medical, dental, vision, and 401K with company match
- Company-provided life insurance, short-term and long-term disability
- High visibility role with direct interaction with executive leadership - your work and your judgment are seen at the top of the organization
- Full ownership of assigned projects from award through completion - no half-measures, no shared accountability
- 50%+ field travel - you're not managing from a desk; you're on site, in the room, and present when it matters
- A growing national platform with capital project volume that rewards capable PMs with increasing scope and responsibility
