Full Job Description
What you will do:

  • Lead the coordination and integration of multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Monitor all the subcontractor cost related reports from subcontractors, regular invoice tracking and reporting
  • Review designers' schedules, progress reports and identify delays or deviations from the original estimate.
  • Leading change management activities including all the analysis for cost, schedule and workload
  • Ensure that design progress is accurately reflected in monthly progress reports and payment applications.
  • Collaborate with project controls to validate earned value and support accurate forecasting.
  • Liaise with internal teams including engineering, construction, and project controls to ensure seamless design execution.
  • Interface with the client to raise issues related to design delays, scope changes, or non-compliance.
  • Support resolution of design-related issues, project risk estimations and facilitate timely design-making.
  • Contribute to monthly applications for payment by validating design progress and deliverables.
  • Ensure all design-related risks and changes are documented and communicated.


What you bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in project/design management, preferably in rail or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in cost control and budget management.
  • Strong knowledge in project cost management activities, reporting tools and methods.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian rail standards, design codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Be in direct contact with subcontractors regarding commercial reporting and monitoring.
  • Proven ability to manage complex design schedules and coordinate across multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven experience managing designers from both project controls (budget and schedule control) and changing management perspective.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to coordinate in a matrix environment.
  • Be a champion of inclusion and diversity.

Expected compensation for this role is between $130,000.00-$160,000.00 annually. Base salaries are determined according to multiple factors including skills, experience and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into consideration. In addition to base salary ONxpress also offers a comprehensive medical and dental program, RRSP with company matching and the potential to participate in our discretionary, performance based bonus program.
