The ideal candidate should have a strong field experience to overseeing multiple high‑impact infrastructure and energy projects in San Bernardino. This role requires daily on‑site presence, coordination with design and engineering teams, and hands‑on management of construction activities. The ideal candidate brings proven experience managing complex projects, maintaining schedules, and ensuring quality and safety standards. Experience with CSU systems and solar/energy projects is highly valued but not required.
ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary on‑site project lead for all construction activities across multiple concurrent projects.
Oversee daily field operations, contractor coordination, inspections, and progress tracking.
Manage project schedules, milestones, and deliverables to ensure timely completion.
Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and consultants, including Gensler for the Microgrid Build‑Out.
Monitor and enforce safety protocols, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
Review and interpret construction documents, plans, and specifications.
Lead site meetings, prepare progress reports, and communicate updates to internal stakeholders.
Support permitting, utility coordination, and regulatory processes as needed.
Manage risk, identify issues early, and implement corrective actions.
Oversee project budgets, change orders, and documentation.
Ensure seamless execution of:
Solar/Battery PPA Project (Sept 2026–Sept 2027)
Microgrid Build‑Out (currently in design)
Storm Drain Upgrade Project tied to a $20M insurance claim from 2022 floods
5+ years of field‑based construction or project management experience.
Ability and willingness to drive to San Bernardino daily for on‑site oversight.
Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, field coordination, and contractor management.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working within CSU (California State University) systems or similar institutional environments.
Experience in solar, battery storage, microgrid, or energy infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with stormwater systems, civil infrastructure, or insurance‑related reconstruction projects.
Salary Range: $167,000 to $183,000 yearly
Location: San Bernardino, CA
Work Environment: Onsite
