This role is intended to work as a peer alongside other Project Managers on the team, bringing the confidence and judgment to manage moderately complex to complex projects while helping strengthen project delivery practices across the group. The successful candidate will lead environmental site assessments, reclamation, soil and groundwater management and remediation projects and portfolios, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage scope, schedule, budget, and risk, and provide practical guidance and coaching to new graduates and early-career professionals.

The role is to be based in GHD's Vancouver office with flexibility to work from home up to two days/week (the expectation is approximately three days per week on average to be in office, on site, or meeting with a client as we value those in-person connections).

  • Serving as a client-facing project lead by maintaining regular communication with clients and internal stakeholders on project progress, financial performance, regulatory obligations, emerging risks, and upcoming milestones.
  • Coordinating the retention and oversight of vendors, subcontractors, and partner teams, ensuring consistent standards for field execution, site access requirements, health and safety expectations, and quality outcomes across projects.
  • Supporting digital data collection and standardized reporting workflows;
  • Preparing and reviewing technical project deliverables including reports, client updates, and regulatory documentation, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and readiness for internal approval and external submission.
  • Mentoring and supporting new graduates and early-career professionals, including team members in the 0-5 year experience range, by providing practical guidance on project delivery, client communication, technical writing, quality expectations, and consulting fundamentals.
  • Completing project closeout activities including completion documentation, lessons learned, continuous improvement actions, and effective handoff across teams and client stakeholders.

What you will bring to the team:
  • Demonstrated experience delivering environmental projects for clients, with accountability for client relationships, project performance, and delivery excellence on moderately complex to complex assignments.
  • Intermediate to senior project management capability across scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, and resource management, with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams in a structured, practical, and collaborative way.
  • Ability to work effectively as a peer to other Project Managers while bringing sound judgment, ownership, and calm leadership to more complex project situations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence leading client discussions, coordinating internal stakeholders, mentoring developing professionals, and delivering clear project reporting.
  • Competent background in variable contaminated site projects, ideally with experience in both British Columbia Contaminated Sites Regulation (CSR) and federal jurisdictions
