Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects of projects from preconstruction through to closeout
  • Work closely with clients and design teams to create preliminary drawings and project budgets
  • Participate in proposal meetings to review project scope and negotiate contracts
  • Oversee subcontractor selection and the buyout process
  • Identify opportunities to procure materials or equipment directly to optimize budgets and schedules
  • Collaborate with Project Superintendents to develop project scopes, schedules, and logistics plans
  • Conduct meetings during construction to track progress and address challenges

ARCO/Murray National Construction is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Project Manager who is passionate about the design/build construction process to join our team based in the Bay Area. Typical base compensation for this role is between $120,000 and $144,000. Candidates with extensive experience may exceed this range. In addition to base salary, the role is eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation based on individual and company.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

  • Lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects of project from the earliest stages of preconstruction through project closeout
  • Work closely with clients and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings and project budget
  • Participate in the proposal meeting with clients to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, provide value engineering ideas, and negotiate contracts & fees
  • Oversee subcontractor selection and buyout process for all trades and vendors
  • Identify and investigate opportunities to procure material and/or specialty equipment directly when advantageous to project budget or schedule
  • Work with Project Superintendent to develop and review subcontractor scopes of work/contracts, project schedule, and site logistics plan
  • Lead preconstruction planning meetings with all designers, subcontractors and vendors aimed at solving potential constructability, sequencing, and/or manpower issues
  • Lead weekly/bi-weekly OAC meetings on-site once construction begins to review progress and address challenges directly with client
  • Track and manage project performance vs budget; prepare owner pay applications, cost status, and progress billing reports

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in Engineering, Construction or related field
  • 1-4 years' of construction management or engineering design experience
  • Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project
