Full Job Description
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

As a Project Manager at Choate Construction, you are the central leader responsible for guiding a project from contract execution through successful completion, knowing that your work directly impacts our clients, project teams, and communities. This role is well-suited for professionals with 6-10 years of commercial construction experience, including at least three years in an Assistant Project Manager or similar role, who are ready to take the next step in managing greater project complexity. You will plan, organize, and administer the owner contract and all subcontract agreements, proactively managing costs, schedule, changes, and overall financial performance while communicating clearly with both internal partners and clients. You will collaborate closely with the field Superintendent to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards, while overseeing the timely procurement, approval, and delivery of labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors to the jobsite. Whether working independently or leading a project team, you will be empowered with Choate's tools and support to build well-executed projects, strong client relationships, and results you can be proud of.

YOU COULD BE THE NEXT CHOATE PROJECT MANAGER IF...
  • You take pride in building trusted relationships with clients, designers, and partners, and represent your project team and Choate Construction with professionalism in every interaction.
  • You communicate clearly and confidently-both verbally and in writing-and are viewed by owners as an advocate they can rely on to build a strong team as well as a great building.
  • You collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and subcontractors, leading with a "firm but fair" approach that drives results while maintaining respect and accountability.
  • You believe safety is personal and actively partner with Superintendents and safety leaders to ensure every worker goes home safely each day.
  • You are comfortable managing contracts and risk, understanding key contract terms, executing subcontracts thoughtfully, and escalating issues appropriately to protect the project and the company.
  • You enjoy being involved early-contributing during preconstruction, helping shape logistics and execution plans, and building strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
  • You bring structure and urgency to project execution, thoughtfully planning schedules, procuring materials and trades, addressing issues early, and supporting the field team to deliver quality work on time.
  • You manage project finances with discipline and detail, converting estimates into executable budgets, tracking costs and forecasts, and ensuring accurate, timely reporting that protects both client and company interests.
