Position Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects at the Savannah River National Laboratory. This role oversees project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and field activities to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently. The Project Manager coordinates contractors, subcontractors, engineering, procurement, project controls, and other stakeholders throughout project execution. Responsibilities include monitoring construction progress, managing risks and changes, resolving field issues, and ensuring compliance with project requirements and applicable standards. The Project Manager provides overall leadership and direction to support successful project delivery from planning through turnover and closeout.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage construction projects from planning through execution, turnover, and closeout, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met.
• Lead and coordinate field construction activities, contractors, subcontractors, and project personnel.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, project controls, and other stakeholders to coordinate construction activities and resolve project issues.
• Review project drawings, specifications, estimates, schedules, and work packages for constructability and execution requirements.
• Monitor project progress, costs, schedules, risks, and contractor performance; identify variances and implement corrective actions.
• Manage project changes and evaluate impacts to scope, cost, schedule, and resources.
• Lead construction meetings, field walkdowns, progress reviews, and project status reporting.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records related to job functions.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external partners, as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Promptly report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or incidents to management.
• Participate in required training sessions and safety briefings.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet operational needs.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or project management (or equivalent)
• Fifteen (15) years of relevant experience across project management, engineering, construction, project controls, or procurement
• DOE Q Clearance required
• U.S. citizenship required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience managing construction projects within a DOE or other highly regulated environment
• Experience with large-scale industrial, nuclear, or government construction projects
• Working knowledge of DOE construction requirements, safety standards, and project controls
• Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and construction cost/schedule management
• Proficiency with Primavera P6 or similar project scheduling software
• PMP, CCM, or related project/construction management certification
• Experience managing subcontractors, change orders, and construction closeout activities
