Position Summary

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, operation, and maintenance of facilities by applying established electrical engineering principles and DOE/NNSA requirements. This role develops and reviews engineering design packages, performs engineering analyses and calculations, provides construction and project support, and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions. The position requires the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while ensuring compliance with industry and federal standards, with opportunities to lead projects and drive process improvements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical engineering design, analysis, and calculations for facility projects.
  • Develop, review, and support engineering design packages and construction documents.
  • Provide construction, field, and project engineering support throughout project execution.
  • Apply electrical engineering principles, industry standards, and DOE/NNSA requirements to engineering work.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams andinterface withproject stakeholders.
  • Utilize engineering software, CAD, drafting, and markup tools to develop technical deliverables.
  • Support system integration across engineering disciplines.
  • Work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Lead engineering projects and supervise technical work whenrequired.
  • Identifyand implement process improvements to enhance engineering operations and customer satisfaction.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant engineering experience aligned with the responsibilities above.
  • Working knowledge of industry, regulatory, and DOE/NNSA codes, standards, and criteria relevant to electrical engineering.
  • Proven knowledge of commonly applied codes and standards at DOE and DoD facilities (e.g., NQA-1, IBC, NFPA, NEC).
  • Prior experience facilitating and developing engineering design packages.
  • Familiarity with typical engineering deliverables (e.g., construction documents).
  • Experience with computer-aided design/drafting software or markup tools.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance.
  • Willingness to work a weekend shift schedule (Friday-Monday, 10-hour shifts) following the required training period, if assigned.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong communicationand organizational skills
  • Ability to work through problems quickly and effectively and define a clear path to resolution
