Full Job Description
Role Description:

Arcadis is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and client-focused Certified Project Manager 1 to join our Project and Program Management team in San Francisco, California. This full-time position will be responsible for overall strategy and financial performance of assigned remediation projects, with senior-level leadership across contractor, stakeholder, regulatory, health and safety, and financial management. The ideal candidate will bring strong project management experience, commercial acumen, effective communication and team leadership skills, and the ability to lead teams while maintaining a focus on safety, quality, financial performance, and client satisfaction. In this role, you will manage project scope, schedule, budget, risk, and resources to successfully deliver project objectives in alignment with Arcadis standards, client expectations, and contractual requirements. This position will report to our San Francisco, California office and offers flexibility through hybrid work arrangements.

Role Accountabilities

This position will include both project delivery and client-facing responsibilities. The successful candidate should be comfortable managing multiple priorities, working with multidisciplinary teams, engaging with clients and stakeholders, and supporting projects that may involve complex technical, contractual, regulatory, and business requirements.
  • Develop and execute project plans, schedules, budgets, and delivery strategies to achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, financial performance, and risk throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with client contracts, subconsultant agreements, and project-specific requirements.
  • Build strong client relationships by delivering technical solutions, addressing client needs, and identifying new opportunities.
  • Promote Health & Safety, including conducting periodic field visits to verify safe work practices, contractor compliance, and quality of project execution.

Qualifications and Experience

Required:
  • Bachelor of Science in Geology, Engineering, or closely related field
  • 10 years of relevant experience, including experience managing and leading teams

Preferred qualifications:
  • 4+ years of project management and/or task management experience.
  • Arcadis project management certification or active progression toward certification.
  • Proficiency with Arcadis project management systems, project management tools, and Microsoft 365 applications.

Location and Travel Requirements:
  • Candidate must reside within the San Francisco Bay Area.
  • Approximately 20% travel is required to support project activities.
  • Travel includes visits to remediation project sites, contractor operations, stakeholder meetings, and local office locations.
  • Field visits are necessary to provide health and safety leadership, verify project execution quality, support stakeholder engagement, and mentor project personnel.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part-time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $129,536 - $194,304.

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
