APM Terminals

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Define, develop and execute plans for the Project including project implementation approach, contracting strategies, budgets and time lines.

  • Continuously manage project scope, time-line, and budget to deliver on the business case.

  • Plan and direct the organizations’ activities to achieve the agreed business targets;

  • Provide direction and leadership to the project team.

  • Ensure project teams are in close collaboration and alignment with the neighbouring terminal organization teams to deliver the project and minimize disruption to existing operations at all times

  • Ensure close collaboration and continuous alignment with the Automation Program Team and other APM Terminals HQ Functions.

  • Drive implementation of design and automation integration and optimization within the project in close collaboration with the Automation Program Team and BPO

  • Implement APMT project controls / project procedures in full to manage the project.

  • Manage the day to day internal and external stakeholders in and around the project.

  • Go Live - ensure smooth integration of new terminal with the overall APM Terminals

  • Issues regular written business status and project management performance reports to the project Steering Committee :

    • Proactively disseminates support information and project status to the project Steering Committee;

    • Reconciles conflicts within the project, regarding resources and deadlines.

  • Risk Management:

    • Identify significant risks in the project in functional areas

    • Assess the identified risks.

    • Have strategies and response plan for risks, re-assess project value if needed.

    • Ensure that shareholder risk policy is implemented

    • Establish and drive a safety culture among own organisation and with contractors

    • Ensure compliance by all suppliers to APM Terminals9 safety standards and policies in cooperation with the on-site HSSE manager

    • Ensure compliance with APM Terminals requirements as it relates to Anti- Fraud and Anti-Corruption.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires experience with managing large and complex international infrastructure projects, preferably in the transport and logistics sector.

  • A college degree from an accredited international university.

  • Executive or project management experience in a semi-automated container terminal or other automated industry.

  • Experience in an international assignment at a senior leadership level. Middle East work experience will be an advantage.

  • Experience in starting-up a project organization.

  • Demonstrate strong leadership and influencing skills.

  • Exercise sound business judgment in order to set direction and establish priorities.

  • Excellent managerial skills, including planning, organizing, and directing work.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English.

  • In addition to effective interpersonal skills requires a collaborative work style, fostering cooperation and teamwork.

  • Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to interpret data.

  • Exceptional time management skills, due to fast-moving, demanding work environment.

  • Must be able to exercise discretion and good judgment, with an ability to understand the effect of decisions overall in the company.
