Senior Project Manager

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead complex, customer-facing engineering projects from order through customer acceptance. In this role, you will be the central point of coordination across customers, engineering, sales, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably, on schedule, and in alignment with technical requirements.

What You'll Do
  • Manage multiple engineering and test system integration projects from point of sale through customer acceptance.
  • Serve as the primary customer contact for project scope, specifications, contractual requirements, schedule, budget, and change management.
  • Build and manage project plans, work breakdown structures, schedules, resource needs, material requirements, and labor plans.
  • Monitor project performance, costs, gross margin, risks, milestones, and deliverables; provide timely status updates and weekly reporting.
  • Coordinate closely with engineering, sales, purchasing, production, vendors, and subcontractors to keep projects moving and resolve issues quickly.
  • Support proposal and estimating activities by defining milestones, clarifying requirements, identifying scope and risk, and partnering with engineering teams to develop material and labor estimates.
  • Work with customers and sales engineers to confirm technical scope, project requirements, and special deliverables for customer proposals.
  • Maintain accurate project, estimate, specification, and change documentation in the appropriate systems and archives.
  • Travel periodically to customer sites to support project execution, review progress, and strengthen customer relationships.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with at least five years of related test facility engineering design experience, including at least two years of electronics systems integration or test facility construction project management experience; or a master's degree in Engineering with at least two years of engineering design experience, including at least one year of test facility construction or electronics systems integration project management experience.
  • Strong technical foundation in electrical and mechanical engineering concepts, data acquisition systems, electronics, instrumentation, and test system design.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects involving customers, internal technical teams, vendors, subcontractors, schedule constraints, budget expectations, and technical deliverables.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
  • Self-motivated, accountable, and comfortable taking ownership of project outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project or similar project planning tools.

Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP certification, CAP certification, or other relevant project management or automation credentials.
  • Experience with powertrain testing, dynamometers, fuel systems, test applications, or test equipment integration.
  • Working knowledge of construction management and project scheduling.
  • Experience with vehicle electrification technologies, including batteries, battery management systems, electric motors, or eMobility test applications.
  • Knowledge of EPA test procedures, emissions equipment, or regulated test environments.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and standards such as NFPA, IEC, IEEE, or UL.
