Job Description

Location:

  • This position will be located in Morrisville, NC and will be an onsite role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of capital projects, ensuring alignment with cost, schedule, quality, and business objectives
  • Establish and oversee project governance, standards, and execution frameworks across the site or region
  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing project engineering and commissioning and qualification teams
  • Drive commissioning and qualification activities to ensure full compliance with regulatory and quality standards
  • Manage project portfolio and capital investment budgets, ensuring effective planning, tracking, and reporting
  • Develop project strategies, including sourcing, contracting, and vendor management approaches
  • Act as primary engineering contact during internal and external audits, ensuring readiness and compliance
  • Implement and maintain engineering standards, procedures, and best practices across projects and operations
  • Lead project reviews, including safety, quality, sustainability, and constructability assessments
  • Foster a culture of safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across all project activities

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical discipline
  • Minimum 8 years of capital project management experience, including pharmaceutical industry exposure
  • Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and external partners
  • Strong expertise in commissioning and qualification within regulated environments
  • In-depth knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice and quality compliance standards
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large capital budgets and complex project portfolios
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards in engineering operations
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across global and local teams

Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary:

The salary for this position is expected to range between $114,100 and $211,900 annually

The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.

Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.

US-based eligible employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, life and disability benefits, a 401(k) with company contribution and match, and a variety of other benefits. In addition, employees are eligible for a generous time off package including vacation, personal days, holidays and other leaves.
