Full Job Description
A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Project Lead Engineer (PLE), you would start a typical day with organization of tasks to support multiple concurrent projects. The PLE position will review contracts, evaluate on time delivery of engineering documents, review scope and identify gaps, organize meetings for clarification of technical issues, mentor other Engineers, and provide reporting to direct manager and other leaders within the business.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Primary point of contact for technical scope on a project. Collaborate with both local and global Siemens Energy Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Quality, Manufacturing, and Installation teams in support of project execution activities. Facilitate information flow between Engineering, Program Management, and our Customers as required and agreed.
  • Lead the contract technical scope and document schedule for auxiliaries from project kickoff through handover to our Customer. Coordinate appropriate flow-down of contract requirements to the Engineering teams at kickoff.
  • Identify risks of execution and highlight to Program Management and Engineering. Manage internal engineering change requests and support external technical scope changes to support Project Management during project execution.
  • Collaborate with the Installation team during initial process and commissioning of Siemens Energy equipment at Customer sites!
  • Provide support to Proposal Managers on technical product definition, risk and requirements review activities for medium and aeroderivative gas turbine equipment bids. Facilitate collection of product starting point design change impacts within Engineering due to project requirements and configuration on cost and schedule.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field. Advanced degree/certifications, preferred (Engineering, MBA, PMP, and/or PE Certification).
  • 8+ years in power plant project execution, with knowledge of Gas Turbine and/or Generator auxiliaries. Background in mechanical and/or electrical engineering or a comparable field.
  • Eager to learn and acquire experience in related cross-discipline areas. Able to prioritize work and compete tasks.
  • Effective communication (written and verbal) across multi-functional teams; influential leader. Fluent in spoken and written English language.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Siemens Energy tools such as Fabasoft, ERSR, IDEA, SAP, Teamcenter, and COMOS/ePlan.
  • Travel at least 20% annually, including international travel, for multiple weeks at a time as required to support site installation activity.
  • Able to work in heavy industrial facilities and may be required to scale ladders and lift up to 40 lbs.

About the Team

The PLE Team includes a variety of technical leaders who come from various backgrounds and experience levels. We are responsible for contract evaluation (including clarifications and risk assessment) and document schedules for technical scope on gas turbine equipment projects. We lead teams of 3-15 engineers assigned to our projects from the departments of mechanical, fluid, piping, electrical and control systems. We coordinate with Program Management, Supply Chain, Quality, TFA, and external Customers on project topics.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
