Do you currently work for Canadian Blood Services? All employees must apply via the internal career page.About the roleCanadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary full-time Project Lead to join the Office of VP Supply Chain team within the dynamic Supply Chain division.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the procurement, design and execution of infrastructure projects or components of corporate-level strategic projects. You will work independently or closely with a project team and other members of the organization to achieve project objectives.
Formula for success- Relying on your project management experience, you will make decisions supporting the impacting specific project deliverables, costs and timelines, within the assigned project scope.
- Employing your knowledge of process capability and your problem-solving skills, you will identify opportunities for process improvement and design novel solutions to improve efficiency, consistency and/or quality.
- Capitalizing on your experience in development study design and execution, you will design study protocols and work instructions for assigned projects.
- Leveraging your analytical skills, you will read pertinent technical and scientific literature to assist in identifying research objectives, strategies, and methods.
- Utilizing your expertise in project planning, you will design and develop project plans.
- Drawing on your risk management skills, you will identify, assess, and monitor project risks throughout the life of the project, develop mitigation strategies against these risks, and implement these strategies if required.
- Drawing on your leadership and collaboration skills, you will work collaboratively across the organization too motivate project team members to accomplish project timelines and objectives including identification of contractors and coordination of external resources to ensure project success.
Desired education and skills- Completion of post-secondary education from a recognized academic institution, preferably a bachelor's degree at minimum, in either a related science or engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of related research & development experience is preferred.
- Construction Project Management will be considered an asset.
- Experience in leading applied development projects is preferred.
- Technical experience working in a manufacturing environment or laboratory setting is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of blood and blood component manufacturing processes, regulations and quality is an asset.
- Training and experience in project management, with knowledge of risk management concepts is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems, interpret business needs, and develop integrated, creative solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively both in a team environment or independently and the ability to work collaboratively with senior management and external stakeholders.

- You will work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day. Additional hours may be required depending on project requirements.
