About the Role In this role, you will support and lead land surveying efforts across both field and office environments, contributing to projects from initial research through final deliverables.
You will work closely with project managers, engineers, clients, and contractors to ensure accuracy, quality, and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
This role offers a balance of technical work, field involvement, and project leadership.
What You Will Be Doing- Conduct and support research of public records related to land surveys
- Perform or assist with field surveys for boundary, topographic, and construction projects
- Prepare and support the development of easement descriptions, plats, and legal descriptions
- Generate survey plats and support subdivision platting efforts
- Ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with applicable standards and regulations
- Maintain detailed field notes, data files, and project documentation
- Lead and coordinate survey crews and office staff in completing project tasks
- Manage project scope, schedule, and budget while coordinating with clients and internal teams
- Identify and address technical, schedule, or financial challenges proactively
- Contribute to proposal development, including estimating time and cost for survey services
- Serve as a technical resource and mentor to junior team members

What You Bring- At least five years of progressive experience in land surveying
- Professional Land Surveyor license or ability to obtain within six months
- Experience with tools such as AutoCAD and other surveying software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and legal descriptions
- Valid driver's license

Compensation Range Project Land Surveyor I/II: $78,450.00-128,200.00
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Illinois Salary Transparency amendment to the Equal Pay Act of 2003. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, skills, prior work experience, competencies, and geographic work location. The total annual compensation package may consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate, after a qualifying period, in our performance and discretionary incentive bonus program(s).
