ABOUT THE ROLE

Under the direction of designated project leadership, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and engaging with clients and teams in delivering services to creatively solve problems and performs with a high degree of latitude. Your initial assignment will be on a 2.0+ million square foot healthcare facility at Mayo Clinic's campus.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Provide leadership to the client and project team in establishment of the project goals and vision.
  • Provide project interior design leadership across multiple projects.
  • Lead the design development of the project's goals through all phases of the project (the Pursuit, Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Design, Construction Administration).
  • Evaluate client needs, analyze and effectively document design objectives and spatial requirements.
  • Responsible for leading the interior design approach within the project team.
  • Responsible for the conceptual and design development of interior spaces for the project.
  • Coordinate project design work and code compliance.
  • Coordinate work with other disciplines, including architecture, engineering and consultants.
  • Conduct a review of drawings and support functions in conformance with project time, budget and quality constraints.
  • Oversight of and productions of design visualization.
  • Assist and/or lead in project planning through development and follow through of work plans/budgeting.
  • Develop the schedule of work for the interior design components of the project.
  • Assist in or lead client meetings.
  • Maintain positive client and team relations.
  • Implement, follow, maintain, and enforce interior design standards used throughout interior design team in all project aspects/ phases.
  • Lead the development of furniture, fixtures and equipment (FFE) throughout all phases of the interior design work, as required.
  • Specification development and coordination.
  • Mentor less experienced interior design staff.
  • Actively participate and promote design leadership.
  • Collaborate with design leadership.
  • Consult with product vendors.
  • Lead and/or participate in marketing activities, including proposal development and interviews.
  • Participate in construction administration activities, including site visits, review of submittals and shop drawings, and conducting punch list. Site visits frequently require a physical walk-through of site.
  • May perform other duties as required.


HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or relevant field required.
  • A minimum of 8 years of related experience required.
  • Current NCIDQ certification is preferred.
  • Ability to provide interior design leadership across multiple projects.
  • Strong design, story telling and technical skills as well as the knowledge of building and life safety codes required.
  • Exceptional presentation, organizational, team building, collaboration and communication skills are a must.
  • The ability to build and maintain client relationships is essential.
  • Experience leading a high performing team is preferred.
  • Critical thinker.
  • Highly analytical.
  • Must be a fully qualified professional able to perform work with a high degree of latitude, with some ambiguity in work.
  • Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite required.
  • Professional business attire is required for all client meetings. Examples of professional business attire include suits, ties, collared dress shirts, dresses, and skirts.
  • Travel required.


The salary range for this position to be filled in the Chicago, IL or Buffalo, NY office is $81,955 to $102,398 annually. This salary range is the range we believe is the anticipated range of possible base compensation at the timing of the posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the anticipated salary range for the position. Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses. We offer a full benefit package including medical, dental and vision coverage and flexible spending account options and voluntary insurances. We have paid time off, flex-time schedules, remote work options and a 401k plan and employee perk programs.
