The OpportunityThe Project Expeditor will play an instrumental role in collaborating not only with buyers and Project Managers in the US Project Management, but also with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
This role is responsible for overseeing the entire expediting process for pipeline projects and related facilities, ensuring strategic alignment with business objectives and project goals.
What you'll do- Lead and mentor junior expeditors to drive best practices and continuous improvement within the team
- Take ownership of complex projects and critical materials, proactively managing risk and ensuring all delivery milestones are met in accordance with Purchase Order (PO) terms and conditions
- Act as the primary point of contact for escalation and resolution of supplier performance and compliance issues, engaging with leadership when necessary
- Prepare, review, and present detailed Material Status Reports and analysis to stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations on project progress and potential bottlenecks
- Build and sustain high-impact relationships with suppliers, business partners, and internal teams, driving collaboration and effective communication across all levels
- Organize and facilitate early planning meetings with suppliers for critical equipment, establishing clear expediting expectations and project timelines
- Ensure all vendor communications, meeting outcomes, and status updates are documented, audited, and accessible for management review
- Coordinate or oversee shipping, and logistics activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence across the expediting function
Minimum Qualifications- Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Four (4+) years' experience as a Project Expeditor within the oil and gas industry
- A combination of education and relevant practical experience may be considered
Preferred Qualifications- Demonstrated expertise in managing complex projects and facilitating problem resolution at a senior level
- Advanced understanding of material/equipment manufacturing processes and commercial/technical elements of accountable projects
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a track record of driving results and positive outcomes
- Experience presenting to and working with leadership
- Ability and willingness to champion new technologies and process improvements in procurement and expediting
