Project Executive - IndustrialConstruction

Ames, Iowa

This is a senior operationalleadership role responsible for overseeing multiple projects, Project Managers,and Superintendents while driving planning excellence, financial performance,client relationships, and operational execution across Todd & Sargent'snationwide industrial construction operations.

The ideal candidate bringsdeep industrial construction leadership experience, strong business andoperational judgment, and a proven ability to lead teams executing large,complex projects across geographically distributed operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership and oversight for multiple industrial construction projects across nationwide operations and project locations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure alignment, accountability, excellence, and long-term leadership growth.
  • Establish and reinforce a proactive planning culture focused on scheduling, risk management, constructability, safety, and operational readiness.
  • Drive project strategy including staffing, procurement, buyout, scheduling, financial forecasting, and execution planning.
  • Partner with Preconstruction, Safety, Engineering, and Field Operations teams to ensure coordinated project delivery.
  • Ensure accurate forecasting, cost control, cash flow management, and margin protection across assigned projects.
  • Promote operational consistency and continuous improvement aligned with Todd & Sargent standards and culture.
  • Participate in recruiting, mentoring, onboarding, and succession planning for operational teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of construction project management experience, including at least 5 years in leadership responsibilities overseeing teams and multiple projects.
  • Proven experience managing industrial and/or commercial construction projects of significant scale and complexity.
  • Proven ability to lead leaders, not solely individual projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction operations, project execution strategy, planning and scheduling, project controls, and financial management.
  • Experience overseeing multiple concurrent projects and geographically distributed teams.
  • Working knowledge of modern construction project management and project control systems.
  • Ability to lead complex operational discussions related to risk, planning, sequencing, cost, and execution strategy.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and relationship management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Field operations or Superintendent experience earlier in career.
  • Experience delivering projects nationwide or across multiple regions.
  • Background in design-build, industrial/process, manufacturing, or highly technical facility construction.
  • Experience building and developing operational teams and organizational bench strength.

Travel

This role includes travel toproject sites and operational locations nationwide. Travel expectations aretypically planned and manageable but are an important part of the role.

Location
