Project Engineering Manager - Solar

TE Connectivity in Fuquay-Varina, NC is looking for a Project Engineering Manager - Solar, responsible for all aspects of all pre-contract and post management utility scale solar projects. Apply specialized knowledge in solar design engineering as it applies to TE Connectivity products and processes. Work with the business management team, TE support functions, vendors, customers and field level construction managers in the execution of projects in support of the Company's strategic plan. Construct engineered project take off's and other insight to alternate methods of layouts. Participate in proposal review and negotiation process. Provide 30/60/90% drawings sets in support of AMS service model. Provide risk management assessment along with project team to manage risks. Manage project deliverable requirements to ensure current and future metrics are exceeding customer expectations. Ensure that engineering, procurement, construction and logistics elements of projects are executed in a manner consistent with the as-sold expectations of company customers. Monitor performance metrics, project schedules, risk profiles, and cost performance of the project in accordance with company systems and practices. Proactively address open customer issues and coordinate with internal groups to ensure that quotations, quality complaints, VOC, technical information is provided to the customer within agreed timeframes. Develop and implement effective lead campaign strategies - outgoing calls and emails. Development of sales presentations, proposals, and other materials as needed to support project development efforts. Coordination of library of projects throughout the Americas region- make outgoing calls to qualify projects. Identify and understand current and future customer needs and opportunities to introduce and sell products, services and solutions to the customer. Promote TE Energy technologies and product portfolio with the customer and drive projects. Requires 30-50% domestic travel. Telecommuting permitted.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or foreign equivalent), plus 3 years of experience in the job offered, product management, sales, or marketing related to medium voltage overhead power distribution utility market, or in a related occupation.

Special Requirements: Requires 2 years of experience with the following:
  1. Solar or electrical utility industry.
  2. Product management, marketing, application engineering and/or sales for electrical connectors.
  3. Working knowledge of project scheduling concepts, techniques, and software (AutoCAD).
  4. Working knowledge of PVSystems and/or other solar design/layout tools.
  5. Working knowledge of engineering design, procurement, and construction practices and procedures.

Requires 30-50% domestic travel. Telecommuting permitted. May require employment and background checks.
