Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure team compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Lead and mentor field engineers, conducting performance evaluations.
  • Validate field quantities against project progress accurately.
  • Coordinate with Logistics to ensure project materials meet specifications.
  • Collaborate with Procurement/Logistics to maintain delivery quality.
  • Plan and lead meetings with Operations and clients for project tasks.
  • Support Superintendents with field-related issues and inquiries.
  • Review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs to confirm accuracy.
  • Participate in project schedule reviews and manage change orders.
  • Assist project management in coordinating subcontract agreements.
  • Incorporate processes for effective project close-out.

Full Job Description
Position Overview

The Project Engineer will manage a team of Field Engineers, Quality Assurance Specialists, and support the Project Management and Operations team. The Project Engineer will interact with clients regarding issues and questions to ensure clear communication.

The Project Engineer will be assigned to one of our multiple project site locations in the United States.

Essential Functions
  • In addition to quality, continually ensuring all employees follow health and safety regulations while monitoring operations to promote the wellbeing of the whole team.
  • Responsible for mentoring, leading, and performance evaluations of field engineers.
  • Validate field measured quantities in alignment with project progress.
  • Assist Logistics Coordinator with all project materials, tools and supplies to ensure adherence to contract and design specifications.
  • Work with Procurement/Logistics team to assure acceptable incoming delivery quality.
  • Plan subtasks and lead meetings to cover upcoming work with Operations team and client.
  • Supports Superintendents and Foremen on questions and issues in the field.
  • Oversee the review of shop drawing, submittals, and RFIs.
  • Participate in schedule reviews, cost to complete meetings, and change orders.
  • Support project management with the facilitation of subcontract agreements.
  • Incorporate all processes and procedures that support the project close-out phase.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience on renewable energy projects preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Blue Beam, Outlook, and related software programs. Knowledge of Procore and Auto CAD desired.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of BUILD Renewables' personnel, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work well in a group environment and foster a team approach.
  • Highly detail-oriented.
  • Must be self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and clean driving record.


Working Conditions
  • 100% travel required. Projects are nationally based.
  • Construction Site Environment - physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb. Exposed to high noise levels.
  • Office Environment - extensive sitting at desk and computer; some standing, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally.
  • Exposure to all forms of weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, dry, humid, windy) for the entire workday.

Location: Various U.S. Project Sites (Travel Required)

Full Time - Exempt Position

Position requires working hours in excess of 40 hours per week based on operational needs. A rotation schedule is implemented to help offset additional hours.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000 - DOE
