Full Job Description
RVA is seeking a Project Engineer, Transportation to work on a variety of challenging projects. The individual will have the opportunity to work on projects varying in scope and size related to roadways and highway infrastructure design, including grading and drainage, roadside safety, geometric design, flood protection, stormwater management, storm drainage systems, watermain and sewer design and intersection design and utility coordination. This role offers the right candidate the potential for career growth within RVA. Duties: - Providing engineering and technical expertise on multi-disciplinary projects - Assisting in project management, including budget tracking and client communication - Participating in studies, assessments, modeling, preliminary and detailed design - Contributing to reports, drawings, and other engineering documents - Preparing designs for municipal road reconstructions, water/sewer systems, site grading, and stormwater management - Communicating with clients, consultants, and contractors under supervision - Supporting business development initiatives - Collaborating with project teams to meet deadlines and budgets - Prepare tender and contract documents, including specifications, quantities, and construction estimates. - Mentoring junior engineers and technologists as needed Qualifications: - University Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution - 4-14 years of experience in municipal/transportation design engineering, with some consulting experience preferred - P.Eng., or eligibility for registration in Ontario - Project Management experience considered an asset - Ability to develop positive relationships with staff and clients - Experience in meeting project timelines and budgets - Good technical writing and communication skills - Ability to work effectively in a team environment Your better starts here We don't settle for less, and neither should you.
