  • Create and review assembly drawings, detail drawings, models, and specifications to ensure accuracy, completeness, manufacturability, and compliance with customer and industry standards.
  • Initiate internal Engineering workflow such as customer drawing evaluation, internal drawing creation and revision, through internal PLM environment and collaborate cross functionally to ensure on time completion of the workflow
  • Apply Design for Manufacturability and Design for Supply Chain principles when developing new products or improving existing designs.
  • Serve as the design subject matter expert for assigned products or programs and support the full New Product Introduction process from concept through production launch.
  • Lead design reviews, DFMEA activities, failure analysis, root-cause investigations, corrective actions, and qualification test planning.
  • Support Sales and Marketing by providing technical product knowledge, participating in customer discussions, and representing the company in customer or industry meetings when needed.
  • Support AS9100 and internal quality system requirements by ensuring design and development activities are properly documented and controlled.
  • Partner with Trade Compliance to ensure commercialized products are properly classified in accordance with applicable U.S. export control laws and regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3-5 years of progressively responsible mechanical design engineering experience, preferably in aerospace, defense, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced proficiency with sheet metal CAD modeling, FEA stress analysis, parametric design and Model based definitions.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and design documentation requirements.
  • Experience developing mechanical components or assemblies from concept through prototype, qualification, and production release.
  • Proficient knowledge of design reviews, DFMEA, failure analysis, qualification testing, and root-cause problem solving.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple projects and priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Strong customer focus, sense of urgency, and ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with CATIA V5/3DEXPERIENCE or similar PLM/PDM software for configuration management, engineering change control, and workflow management.
  • Experience with silicone, elastomer, seal, clamps, or other aerospace hardware design and testing.
  • Working knowledge of reverse engineering of aerospace components, including dimensional inspection, material evaluation, drawing creation, and design validation.
  • Experience supporting supplier development, cost reduction, value engineering, or production process improvement.

Benefits

Benefits include 8 health plan options, dental, life and supplemental insurance, and 401(k) with employer match.
