Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing corrective actions for critical supply chain issues.
  • Identify process improvements to enhance supplier delivery performance.
  • Participate actively in product development teams as a resource or member.
  • Collaborate with the Supplier Risk Management team on financially troubled suppliers.

Full Job Description
Job Summary:
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren MI three times per week, at minimum.

Working cross-functionally with Purchasing, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Containerization, Logistics and OEM assembly / manufacturing plants to facilitate critical supply issues and business transfers. This group deals with short term capacity issues caused by broken tools or equipment, fires, floods, and any other related supplier shortage issues.

Job Responsibilities:
Support / Lead conference calls with business transfers and critical supply issues
Function as liaison between purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, logistics and suppliers to resolve issues and to provide technical support
Determine the cause of supplier delivery problems and coordinate/implement effective and timely resolutions
Help assess and assist in the development and implementation of corrective actions for critical issues
Improve delivery performance of suppliers by identifying process improvements and lead time reduction opportunities
May participate as member or resource to product development teams
Regularly exchange information with others inside and outside the work group including OEM and supplier facilities
Work with Supplier Risk Management team with Financially Troubled Suppliers
Lead and support Proactive and Predictive strategy vision and engage in projects related to developing this strategy
Understand and implement standardize work practices.
Keep management updated frequently , consistent with the issues urgency
Provide Executive Reports as Required

Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, related field
5+ years of experience in Automotive Manufacturing Operations
3+ years of experience in die casting or machining operations
Excellent communication and command skills are necessary to be successful in this position.
Broad understanding of manufacturing processes including , material handling, Inventory management, OEE, Capacity , throughput etc.
Demonstrate excellent level of analytical ability, communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and supplier to solve problems and resolve issues.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and significantly complex cases and assignments with high level of autonomy and accountability for results.
Ability to prepare and present information to various levels and audiences.
