Stantec's multi-disciplinary office in Tampa or Clearwater, Florida has an opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer - Site /Civil engineering design.. We are seeking a candidate with experience in professional practice and design related to land development/community development.

This position will be involved with significant projects, interact with clients and government agencies and effectively working with a team. Responsibilities include design and preparation of site, grading, drainage, erosion control and utility plans as well as design reports. Your Key Responsibilities
  • Engages in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
  • Utilizes technologies in development of three dimensional models of civil systems and provides markups for junior engineers/designers.
  • Prepares and revises documentation in various civil phases including site plans, floor plans, diagrams, and details.
  • Leads project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.
  • Participates in client project requirement meetings and value analysis, and basic cost estimating.
  • Assists senior engineers/designers with developing and managing the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
  • May lead the preparation and coordination of the project specifications with construction documents.
  • Performs and oversees the performance of calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
  • Utilizes advanced techniques for the analysis of specialized civil elements.
  • Participates in constructability review.
  • Conducts quality assurance and quality control on own projects.
  • Assists in the development of new standards and specifications for the civil group.
  • Works on multiple projects.

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Ability to perform all aspects of design (grading, streets, water, sewer, storm drain, hydrology, erosion control, etc.) with an emphasis on technical and project delivery excellence.
  • Sound knowledge of industry practice and demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service.
  • Experience with both private and public sector clients/projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral, written and graphic communication skills, including computer literacy in Civil3D, Hydrology / Hydraulic design software, MS Office.
  • Direct experience in client management and business development is an asset.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 6+ years of experience in the profession of Civil Engineering civil/site design.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Florida or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work. Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
