Duties:
Maintains an awareness of competitor products and the general business climate in personal care appliance industry; manages project flow involving regular contact with manufacturing and other cross functional staff members; maintains adherence to all procedures covering new product development and design output in addition to procedures of non-engineering departments related to project flow; responsible for the design, manufacturability, cost, tooling, performance and quality specifications, corrective action/revisions of a product while developing and maintaining a production schedule; assists and works with others required to bring a project to successful completion; establishes, reviews, checks, revises drawings, write-ups, routers and specifications to support the design of new products; conducts and evaluates electrical, quality, performance, safety and reliability testing of product design on prototypes and finished product; establishes bill of material, oversees construction of working and visual models and schedules/facilitates design review/production release meetings to ensure design feasibility and production scheduling; works with manufacturing and quality to develop required fixtures and gauges; tracks project schedule to ensure adherence to timeline.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering
- 6 years experience in electro-mechanical design or mechanical design engineering or product engineering
- 5 years experience in Electro-mechanical Design or Mechanical Design
- 5 years experience using design tools (e.g., FMEA, stack ups, FEA)
- 5 years experience in consumer electronics and / or home appliances industry
- 5 years experience with engineering materials and manufacturing process associated with plastics, metal stamping, motor and machining manufacturability
- 2 years experience with project management of precision electro-mechanical products or machinery from concept through production
- 2 years experience using simulation tools
- 2 years experience with 3-D modeling
- 2 years experience with cutting elements
Salary: $105,0000-110,000 per year
