Full Job Description
Position Summary:

MPLX NG&NGL is seeking a Project Engineer to manage midstream gas processing facility projects. The Project Engineer manages all aspects of assigned projects through engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning. Aspects include, scope, cost, schedule, feasibility, concept engineering, detailed design, equipment selection and procurement, contractor selection, construction oversight, management of change, personnel and process safety, environmental oversight and all other project tasks to successfully accomplish the project objectives. This position will report to the Engineering Director.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with affected departments during project development to vet resource estimates, schedules, business benefits, environmental/health/safety impacts.
  • Supports project detailed design and technical reviews to ensure design meets corporate engineering standards.
  • Prepares bid requests for material, labor, and equipment and evaluate proposals on sound engineering and business principles.
  • Supports multiple projects simultaneously of varying magnitude and complexity from conception to commissioning and start-up.
  • Acts as a safety leader who upholds company core values and prioritizes personal and process safety. Prepares and leads engaging project safety meetings, drives safely, utilizes the MOC process, and supports the development and implementation of business partner energy isolation procedures. Supports department and company HES goals.
  • Troubleshoots operational issues and optimizes processes utilizing sound engineering practices.
  • Participates in project safety reviews including HAZOPs, PHAs, PSSRs, etc.


Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil, chemical, or electrical engineering or other related engineering degree from ABET accredited institution required.
  • Professional experience with engineering, construction and/or and Project Management is preferred.
  • Previous experience with Petrochemical Industry, gas processing design, fabrication, and construction is preferred.
  • Previous experience with PSM covered assets is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of individuals/employees is preferred.
  • Current valid driver's license is required.
  • The position is in an office setting and frequent travel to field locations will be required up to 50% of the time.
