Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer Manager to lead our team of Project Engineers at our Youngstown/Latrobe, PA facility. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing customer projects, driving operational efficiency, supporting team development, and ensuring projects are completed on time while meeting the highest quality standards.

What You'll Do

You'll guide project priorities, monitor timelines, analyze performance metrics, and help remove obstacles that impact productivity or customer satisfaction. Your leadership will play a key role in delivering testing services for some of the world's most demanding applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop departmental goals and performance metrics aligned with company objectives.
  • Establish project priorities and allocate resources to meet customer deadlines and laboratory capacity.
  • Monitor project schedules and proactively address bottlenecks that may impact turnaround times.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as turnaround time, on-time delivery, backlog, utilization, and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce delays, and improve customer experience.
  • Work closely with sales and quoting teams to ensure customer expectations align with operational capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with quality systems, customer requirements, and industry standards such as ISO 17025, Nadcap, or aerospace specifications.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration between engineering, laboratories, quality, operations, and business services teams.
  • Analyze project profitability, efficiency metrics, and resource utilization to support business objectives.
  • Support customer visits, audits, and business reviews when needed.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:
  • Citizenship is strictly required for national defense and aerospace compliance.
  • 5+ years of leadership or management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience in project management, operations, expediting, or logistics
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working with project management software and business systems
  • Experience in materials testing, manufacturing, engineering services, or a technical environment preferred
  • Familiarity with inspection processes and quality systems preferred
