Job Description:

Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for either a Project Engineer II or Senior Engineer to join the Environmental Dredging and Restoration Group in support of our Maryland Port Administration projects, including Dredged Material Containment Facilities, large scale ecosystem restoration programs, and Dredged Material Innovative and Beneficial Reuse initiatives. The successful candidate will drive the planning, design and delivery of complex construction projects from concept through construction phases. Working with multidisciplinary teams this role will lead engineering, design, and construction management of projects involving stormwater management, dredging, environmental mitigation, and remediation.

This position will be primarily located at our Headquarters facility in Millersville, MD with teleworking opportunities and will require regular visits to active project sites within the State of Maryland.

Estimated Pay Range:

Project Engineer II: $93,440.94 – $128,481.30

Senior Engineer:   $113,064.33 - $155,463.03

Minimum Requirements:

Project Engineer II Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Geotechnical, Electrical or other generally recognized field of engineering from an accredited college or university plus eight years of relevant engineering experience and at least 1 year of experience managing staff. Professional Engineer Certification or a Master’s Degree in an Engineering or Management discipline may be substituted for two years of required experience.

Senior Engineer Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Geotechnical, Electrical or other generally recognized field of engineering from an accredited college or university plus ten years of relevant engineering experience and at least 4 years of experience which included direct supervisory capacity managing technical and scientific staff. Professional Engineer Certification or a Master’s Degree in an Engineering or Management discipline may be substituted for two years of required experience.

General Qualifications:

Must have a valid driver’s license with less than 5 points.

Preferred Qualifications include:

Experience in dredging projects, including projects related to dredge material management and innovative or beneficial reuse, remediation and/or construction management preferred.

This position will be open until filled.
