Qualifications

Full Job Description
Project Engineers are responsible for supporting the technical execution of Hunting Subsea projects. Activities include the design, analysis, testing, manufacturing and installation support through all phases of project development and deployment.

Responsibilities:
  • Design activities will include creative brainstorming, proof-of-concept calculations, system layouts, top-down assembly design, detail component design and drafting.
  • Analysis activities will include classical handbook calculations, engineering spreadsheets, and Finite Element Analysis for determinations of structural integrity, stability, fatigue, and fracture per the applicable company practices and industry driving requirements.
  • Testing activities will include hands-on involvement during internal verification programs, as well as technical monitoring of external laboratories.
  • Manufacturing support will include direct interface with both internal and external shops to promote efficient product development, mitigate non-conformances, and provide disposition as necessary.
  • Installation assistance will be required for each product through installation, operation, repair, and decommission.
  • Project planning in terms of the following: system layout and detail design, system analysis and verification, manufacturing support, documentation, reports, design reviews and customer presentations
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Required: Bachelor's degree from four-year accredited college or university, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Preferred: Advanced degree in Engineering, business or other technical focus
  • Preferred: Licensing/Registration/Certification - P.E. License Preferred
  • Must be proficient with SolidWorks
  • Familiarity with linear and nonlinear structural FEA software a plus
  • Experience with Abaqus/CAE preferred
  • Experience with other 3D CAD systems a plus
  • Experience with deepwater riser systems or subsea hardware is a plus.
  • To perform in this position successfully, an individual must be able to complete all areas outlined above for this position in a satisfactory manner.
  • Experience with an engineering/fabrication company in the oil & gas industry
  • Proficient in MS Office with a focus on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Proficient with Adobe Acrobat.
  • Familiar with calculation softwares such as MathCAD or MatLab.
  • Experience with design of machined components and welded fabrications
  • Experience working on a project basis
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Must be organized to achieve good results
  • Creative, precise, and innovative in finding solutions to problems
  • Ability to read blueprints and industry specifications.
  • Machine shop, welding, and backgrounds in other manufacturing methods preferred.
  • Must be familiar with Roark's (Stress) and Peterson's (Stress Concentration) Engineering Handbooks.
  • Must be competent with free body diagrams, load path, stiffness, and deflection determinations.
  • Experience with linear and nonlinear structural Finite Element Analysis (FEA) preferred.
  • Experience with structural, fatigue, and function testing preferred.
  • Experience correlating test data to analysis math models a plus.
  • Experience with strain gages, load cell, and data acquisition systems a plus.
