FTS has an opportunity for a Project Engineer in Chantilly, VA.
The Project Engineer serves as program support to the government Program Manager (PM) with responsibility for technical knowledge of the assigned teams and programs/projects.
Responsibilities- Provide technical guidance and recommendations related to the integration of National Systems-based capabilities
- Assist the PM/COTR in program management; strategic planning; cost, schedule, and performance monitoring and reporting; program synchronization; generating requests for information responses; cross-program coordination; and programmatic
- Lead IPT meetings and review process boards to include but not limited to ERBs, CCBs, SRRs, PDRs, CDRs, and PMRs
- Support the PM in multiple areas which include systems, mission, and enterprise engineering; program management; acquisition support; analytic support; technical analysis; user requirement management/development; architecture; and customer outreach and support
- Serve as technical expert in their assigned area
- Other responsibilities include administrative and technical support to the Government leadership team, internal cross coordination, external mission partners and other DoD/IC customers
Required Skills/Qualifications- TS/SCI with polygraph
- BS/BA degree in technology, business, engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in project management and acquisition, with emphasis on Government acquisition in DoD or IC
- Familiarity with project management; monitoring developer cost, schedule, and performance; and program office processes, techniques, and documentation
- Ability to travel ~10%
Desired Skills/Qualifications- MS/MA degree in technology, business, engineering, or a related field
- Familiarity with national and tactical space architectures
- Familiarity with different contracting types; e.g.: competition, sole source, IDIQ/TOs, Other Transactions, and Broad Agency Announcements)
- Working knowledge of SAFe Agile or similar agile processes and JIRA and Confluence tools
- Certified in one or more of the following: INCOSE (or DAWIA equivalent), Agile, Project Management
- Familiarity with project management; monitoring developer cost, schedule, and performance; and program office processes, techniques, and documentation
- Ability to problem solve in a rapidly changing environment and interface with the customer daily
- Track and respond to office tasking, build, and present program briefings, and update project schedules and calendar
