Expected salary range for this position is $120,000 - $140,000 depending on experience.

Fisk Electric, a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking to hire a Project Engineer to join our Fresno, CA office.

DESCRIPTION:

As a Project Engineer at Fisk Electric, reporting to the Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to work on California High Speed Rail projects. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-profile infrastructure project and gain valuable experience in complex transit system construction.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Track, review, and process Change Proposal Requests, Change Orders, Owner Payment Applications, and, if applicable, claims

  • Monitor job costs, maintain accurate reports, and assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in preparing quantity reports, analyzing labor costs, and completing quarterly profit project records

  • Manage the preparation and execution of the Project Closeout process

  • Research and propose solutions to quality control issues

  • Verify that all completed work complies with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications

  • Work with foremen and superintendents to ensure that work is completed per the project schedule

  • Create weekly schedules to plan and track construction activities

  • Coordinate with field supervision to ensure materials are received, inspected, and ready for incorporation into the work

  • Assist with the management of subcontractors and monitor progress of their work

  • Create and manage RFIs, Submittals, and Field Plans for upcoming work

  • Provide support to the project leadership as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or related field is required;

  • Minimum five (5) years of construction industry experience

  • Field Engineer experience preferred.

  • Electrical contractor experience is a plus.

  • Traffic / Street Lighting experience is a plus.

  • Construction experience in the electrical industry on similar large-scale projects is required.

  • Transit electrical experience is preferred

  • Must understand fundamentals of contracting and have familiarity with large scale mass transit / transportation projects.

  • Must be organized with the ability to manage a system or discipline.

  • Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.

  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities is vital.

  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills such as tact, diplomacy, influence, etc. are essential.

  • Must be a business-oriented person.
