Full Job Description
The Project Engineer for the Design Build department coordinates and manages the flow of information to assist superintendents, assistant project managers, project managers, key trade contractors, Owner, design professionals, and other internal/external stakeholders in the execution of projects during design and construction phases. This role will be instrumental in executing projects that safely deliver on-time and on-budget projects with exceptional quality consistent with the Clark Pacific brand.

Compensation Range: $80,000 - $100,000 depending on experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Exercise a high level of professionalism and confidentiality when dealing with staff, projects and proprietary information.
  • Maintain project documentation (Plans, Specifications, RFIs, Submittals, Meeting Minutes, as-builts) coming from design and trade partners, ensuring alignment and consistency.
  • Participate in/lead site safety plan implementation including but not limited to weekly safety meetings, pre-task planning, accident investigation.
  • Participate in/develop understanding of developing and updating project schedules.
  • Support project managers and superintendents in maintaining field operations (scheduling, testing, inspections, maintaining look ahead schedules, daily reports, quality management).
  • Assist with cost management from COR log to identification of scope in subcontracts, changes through estimating and execution of change orders.
  • Prepare/process Subcontractor pay applications, drafting Owner invoices with PM.
  • Pre-shovel assistance including but not limited to constructability studies, baseline scheduling, estimating, bid analyses.
  • Obtain and maintain individual safety and project management certifications (OSHA 10, SWPPP, LEED, DBIA, ParkSmart).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment
  • General jobsite and office environment will be experienced.
  • There will be routine exposure to manufacturing and construction environments which may present hazards such as noise, electricity, chemicals, heavy equipment, and other automated and manual machinery.
  • There will be routine exposure to outside weather conditions, including extreme cold and extreme heat, wet and/or humid environments.

Physical Demands
  • Frequent: Sitting at desk, utilizing computers and phones, standing and walking, business travel up to 100%.
  • Periodic: Repetitive foot, leg, hand, arm, shoulder, and torso movements
  • Occasional: Bending squatting, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting.

Experience and Education
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degree required.
  • At least 1-3 years of construction related experience, or equivalent required.
  • General knowledge of construction principles/practices required.
