Responsibilities

  • Lead capital projects through all phases from design to execution
  • Develop project estimates, schedules, and funding documents using SAP
  • Ensure completion of process hazard reviews and operational readiness inspections
  • Provide field supervision and ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Monitor project budgets and timelines while meeting customer operability needs
  • Conduct safety meetings with contractors and operations teams pre-execution
  • Report incidents and ensure submission of Emergency Action Plans by contractors

Full Job Description
Title: Project Engineer
Location: Gonzales, LA
Duration: 24+ Months
Job Description:
  • Lead assigned capital projects (standalone projects and projects within plant outages) and manage all engineering, design, and construction resources
  • Develop estimates, funding documents, schedules, and ongoing forecasts for plant-executed projects within SAP
  • Ensure all projects receive adequate process hazard reviews and ORIs, and ensure timely completion of recommendations
  • Ensure inherent process safety is adhered to on all project designs
  • Provide field supervision and support during project execution
  • Manage project safety, ensuring compliance with all safety standards and goals
  • Maintain projects within budget and schedule constraints
  • Ensure all projects meet the operability needs of the customer
  • Conduct Safety Kickoff Meetings with contractors and operations teams before project execution
  • Confirm contractors are aware of and follow all client Safety Standards
  • Clearly communicate safety goals: 0 Recordables, 0 First Aids
  • Complete short-term contractor BSP forms daily during project execution
  • Complete JSA reviews and fill out JSA Review forms daily during project execution
  • Participate in the Safe Work Permit issuance process with the operations team
  • Lead daily morning safety/toolbox meetings with all crafts
  • Report all incidents immediately
  • Ensure all contractors on-site for project execution have submitted an Emergency Action Plan prior to mobilization
  • Participate in Safety Sampling and Critical Safety Audits during outages
  • Attend and contribute to monthly Safety Meetings

  • Ability to obtain a TWIC card, Security Passport, and pass refinery background checks (TWIC card must be current and valid for project completion)
