OverviewThe
Project Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of commercial and residential restoration projects, ensuring successful execution across complex, large-scale, and high-value assignments. This role leads project management teams, establishes operational standards, and ensures projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with client expectations. The Project Director works closely with Executive Leadership, Operations, Estimating, Field Teams, and key stakeholders to drive project performance, improve processes, and support organizational growth. Success in this role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, financial acumen, and the ability to manage complex projects while delivering exceptional customer service and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities and Duties- Direct and oversee multiple construction projects and project teams simultaneously.
- Provide leadership and guidance to Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Coordinators.
- Establish project goals, execution strategies, and performance expectations.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Ensure effective cost control and risk mitigation strategies are implemented across all projects.
- Participate in contract negotiations, project planning sessions, and executive-level meetings.
- Ensure project teams comply with company policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications- Education
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent industry experience).
- Certifications
- IIRC certification (all levels)
- Experience
- 3+ years of experience as a Project Director
- Previous experience adhering to OSHA regulations.
- Experience in residential construction and safety requirements.
- Familiarity with Xactimate software (preferred).
- Experience with CRM/project management software.
- Knowledge of practices and procedures in water, fire, and mold trades.
- Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Project Management Software.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, specifications, and bid documents.
- Knowledge of practices and procedures in water, fire, and mold trades.
- Ability to train and supervise employees.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and travel to outdoor job sites.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to sit, stand, kneel, bend, and walk for extended periods.
