Full Job Description
Project Cost Controls Specialist. This role can be based remote within the following states: Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, and West Virginia.

The purpose of this position is to provide project cost tracking, project forecasting, ongoing cost estimate validation, creation of purchase requisitions, material and equipment subcontractor/vendor requests for pricing, submittal generation/oversight, document control, and warranty support. The Senior Project Controls Engineer is also responsible for development and oversight of the Cost Tracker for each project to provide financial oversight for the region as well as supporting intercompany equipment price negotiations. Preferably, successful candidate demonstrates proficiency in systems such as Vista, Bidman, Oracle, and Microsoft Office.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $97,000 - $143,000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and maintain project cost tracking tools, including creation of project Cost Trackers from awarded project budgets, and provide ongoing cost analysis and estimate validation.
  • Lead bi-weekly project financial review meetings and support project forecasting activities, including monthly regional forecasts and mid-month forecast updates.
  • Support project execution through development of bills of materials, equipment order management, and coordination with Project Managers on project procurement activities.
  • Collaborate with external vendors, Eaton manufacturing facilities, and service organizations to obtain quotations, negotiate pricing, and identify optimal project solutions.
  • Review change order proposals for contractual compliance and support margin optimization efforts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor equipment orders and delivery schedules, providing order status updates and delivery forecasts during project review meetings.
  • Support the preparation and submission of project documentation, including submittals, document control, and project closeout activities.
  • Provide Bidman proposal support, process equipment order entry, and coordinate technical and commercial requirements with internal stakeholders.
  • Manage intercompany warranty claims and provide ongoing administrative and operational support for project equipment orders.


Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in project cost controls, project coordination, engineering, finance, accounting, estimating, procurement, or contract administration.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future. Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5 years of experience in electrical assemblies, electrical distribution or power protection technology
  • Demonstrates proficiency in systems such as Vista, Bidman, Oracle, and Microsoft Office Professional Engineer qualification
  • Working understanding of Project Management including scheduling software (Primavera P6 or MS Project)
  • Understanding of Revenue Recognition and SOX rules requirements
  • Experience with Eaton products specifically: switchgear, panel/switch boards, and transformers
