Overview
The Project Coordinator II provides day-to-day project coordination, tracking, reporting, and project management support for Construction Management projects across Electric, Civil, and New Business programs. The role ensures project information remains current, stakeholders are informed, project controls are maintained, and assigned projects are successfully executed. This position supports PMIIs on larger programs while progressively developing the skills and experience necessary to independently manage small construction projects.
Responsibilities
Project Tracking & Coordination
- Maintain project trackers, schedules, status logs, and action item registers.
- Monitor project milestones, deliverables, and key deadlines.
- Coordinate project updates from internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Support the development and maintenance of project execution plans for assigned work.
- Ensure project documentation is complete, accurate, and current.
Project Management & Ownership
- Manage small, low-complexity construction projects from initiation through closeout.
- Coordinate project scope, schedule, resources, and deliverables for assigned projects.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects and stakeholders.
- Facilitate project execution activities and ensure timely completion of project objectives.
- Escalate issues requiring management review while independently resolving routine project challenges.
Contractor Management Support
- Track contractor deliverables and work schedules.
- Monitor progress against commitments and identify potential delays.
- Coordinate communications and follow-up actions with contractors.
- Lead monthly contractor coordination meetings, when applicable.
- Monitor contractor performance and support resolution of schedule, scope, and execution-related issues.
Schedule, Risk & Financial Management
- Develop and maintain project schedules for assigned projects.
- Monitor project performance against established milestones and commitments.
- Identify project risks, constraints, and potential impacts to scope, schedule, or cost.
- Develop and track mitigation actions and escalate concerns when appropriate.
- Assist with project forecasting, cost tracking, and financial reporting activities.
Reporting & Stakeholder Communications
- Provide regular project and job status updates to business units and stakeholders.
- Prepare ad hoc reports and project analyses.
- Develop summaries and presentations to support management decision-making.
- Present project status, risks, issues, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
Dashboard & Performance Management
- Manage and maintain the Construction Project Tracker.
- Manage and maintain current Construction Management tracking tools and dashboards.
- Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and timely reporting across all tracking systems.
- Analyze performance trends and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Meeting & Administrative Support
- Schedule and coordinate project meetings.
- Prepare agendas, meeting materials, and meeting minutes.
- Track action items and follow-up activities.
- Facilitate project meetings and coordinate stakeholder participation.
Qualifications
- BS in Engineering, Analytics, Business or Equivalent Field
- 3+ years of experience providing direct project coordination support on utility (or related) programs/projects
- PMP, Agile or other Program Management certifications a plus
- Strong experience with Excel, Power BI, and other data visualization tools
- Adept at MS Project, Primavera (P6), or equivalent project management planning tools. In-depth knowledge of cost management and controls, budget forecasting, demonstrated risk management and mitigation with exceptional communication skills.
- Knowledge of cost accounting system like SAP is a plus.
- Proven aptitude and demonstrated experience for high volume, complex projects and program management
- Must be able to demonstrate required knowledge of project control principles; understand the principles and concepts of cost engineering as it relates to budgeting, monitoring and tracking actual costs, change orders and forecasting; have advanced skills in planning and scheduling utilizing the critical path method, and be able, to set up basic cost reports required by the project manager.
- Must be able to develop and maintain positive, cooperative, team-oriented relationships with coworkers, supervisors, managers, clients and other in contact with the job.

Wage Data Per State Requirements
Salary range for this position is $89,000 - $104,000. The starting salary will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.
