Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent PositionSchedule: 7x7 schedule (Days Only) Duties & Responsibilities- Assists with tendering process, answering contractor clarifications, and preparing evaluations for review by the Management Team.
- Ensure the formation and administration of all construction and service contracts required for successful project execution.
- Monitor contracts for potential conflicts or disputes that could result in claims.
- Provide leadership to project field staff in managing construction contracts.
- Assist with the commercial evaluation of tenders, addressing technical, construction, and scheduling issues.
- Conduct weekly contractor construction meetings, taking and issuing meeting minutes.
- Contributes to the effective management of the site safety program, with a strong focus on proactively maintaining and improving workplace safety.
- Ensure changes to the contract and approval of contractor invoices are managed in a fair and timely manner to avoid claims.
- Coordinate and control field design changes using the RFI system with cost control and scheduling, preparing documentation for contract deviations.
- Maintain Change Order logs and manage extra work costs submitted by contractors, including approvals, estimate checks, and filing.
- Planning and supervising all site QA/QC programs including material testing
- Ensure contract close-out procedures are fully followed and all required documentation is received before releasing final payments.
- Manage administration staff and act as liaison between construction and contractors.
- Assist with development and management of scope, budget, and schedule for third-party engineering and construction contracts.
- Assist with the preparation of weekly and monthly project status reports.
- Review and approve contractors' level four construction schedules
- Monitor site wide deficiency list for each package
- Monitor the LEM process, including approvals and tracking of daily costs
- Assist with execution planning, including site logistics and temporary infrastructure.
- Monitor resource requirements and assist in coordinating staff input.
- Ensure that Change Management processes are implemented and managed accordingly.
- Function as Project Manager for small to medium-sized capital projects (up to $1mil).
- Provide guidance and support to various departments during planning and implementation of continuous improvement projects.
- Lead construction workflows and assist with supply chain management (scopes, contractor management).
- Provide field technical, budget, and schedule support.
Education, Experience & Qualifications- Diploma or Degree in Engineering is preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of combined field and office experience in a project coordination or technical role in mining or industrial operations
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to work independently or part of a team
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and timelines, good attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
- Ability to organize priorities based on deadlines
Technical Competencies & Skills- Computer skills include use of Microsoft Software packages, with better than average competence in spread sheets and relational database programs.
- Ability to interpret data driven reports and create high-quality reports.
- Ability to act with integrity, good judgment, and discretion.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously, including scheduling, resource allocation, and budgeting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of using data to improve maintenance strategies and reduce equipment downtime.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering a culture of safety, integrity, and teamwork.
- Passion and experience in achieving outstanding performance in the areas of Health, Safety and Environmental stewardship.
