Job Description

We have multiple openings forProject Controls Specialists to support the Strategic Deterrence Project Controls organization. You will be responsible for supporting the implementation of project controls processes for projects of limited to moderate scope and complexity. Under guidance from more experienced staff, this role assists in developing and maintaining schedules, cost and earned value data, and routine reports using established tools, work processes, and procedures. These positions will programmatically support various projects and programs in Strategic Deterrence Project Controls organization and will report administratively to the National Security Engineering Division (NSED) within the Engineering Directorate.

This position offers a hybrid schedule, blending in-person and virtual presence. You will have the flexibility to work from home one or more days per week.

These positions will be filled at eitherlevel based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.

You will
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze project schedule updates and milestone tracking using tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Assist with collecting, integrating and validating project controls data across cost, schedule, and Earned Value Management systems.
  • Assist with preparing and verifying accuracy of cost and schedule variance analysis, and Estimate at Complete (EAC) forecast inputs.
  • Assist with preparing reports, aligning financial data with project activities, loading actual costs, and preparing monthly accruals using laboratory financial systems.
  • Prepare graphic presentations and information regarding estimating, cost, schedule, and earned value data for meetings and reporting.
  • Coordinate baseline changes and ensure compliance with change control policies and procedures.
  • Compile meeting materials and action items, routine status updates, and draft reports for review by higher-level project controls staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

In addition, at the TSS.2 level
  • Lead development and maintenance of integrated, resource-loaded site schedules for a specific work area and associated project controls data.
  • Prepare and analyze project performance data, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions, performance measurement, cost variance, and baseline planning reports, analyses, and change packages.
  • Work closely with Control Account Managers and project managers on schedule and earned value reporting, monthly forecast budgets, and change control.

Qualifications
  • Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Fundamental knowledge of project management/project controls principles, including cost, schedule.
  • Fundamental knowledge of schedule development, milestone tracking, and cost tracking.
  • Experience using project controls tools, such as Primavera and MS Project, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, such as Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Sufficient verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively in a team environment and present and explain technical or operational information.
  • Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources into a document or presentation.

In addition at the TSS.2 level
  • Comprehensive knowledge of earned value management principles and reporting, including change management.
  • Experience independently supporting project planning, performance tracking, and baseline maintenance.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and experience using project controls software systems such as cost processors, scheduling and reporting tools; such as Primavera P6 and Deltek Cobra.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and usage of MS Excel advanced functions such as pivot tables, worksheet, and data manipulations and graphing.

Qualifications We Desire
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Familiar with Department of Defense (DoD) 5000 and NNSA 6.x acquisition processes.

Pay Range

$107,610 - $163,764 Annually

$107,610 - $136,500 Annually for the TSS.1 level

$129,150 - $163,764 Annually for the TSS.2 level

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
