This Opportunity

WSP is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to join their Project Controls team. This individual will be a part of the WSP Buffalo, NY Team.

Your Impact
  • Work under the direction of the Project Managers to support the planning, coordination, and evaluation of project financial reporting.
  • Review Power BI and/or Tableau dashboards to visualize project health and key performance indicators.
  • Understand contract requirements and ensure adherence to terms and conditions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to evaluate cost-saving options and recommend value-added changes to optimize project costs.
  • Communicate project status and cost performance to Project Managers
  • Attend project review meetings with stakeholders.
  • Maintain financial reports for individual project subtasks and provide roll-up summary reports.
  • Review funding and procurement documentation to ensure conformance to approved project budgets.
  • Manage change order processes and assess the impact of proposed changes on project costs and schedules.
  • Assist Project Managers with invoice review and collections.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or equivalent years of experience.
  • 3-5 years project controls or project accounting experience on large-scale projects.
  • Navigation of reporting & BI Tools: Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with the ability to present clearly to stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work Style: Self-starter who thrives in a hybrid work environment and can manage competing priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $94,300 - $112,400

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
