Full Job Description
What You'll Do

The Project Controller is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of project controls functions throughout the project lifecycle. This role ensures cost, budget, commitment, and forecast data is accurate and timely in the construction management system(s) and produces reliable project financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.

This position partners closely with Project Management and site teams to support accurate forecasting, change management tracking, progress measurement, invoice readiness, and early identification of cost and commercial risks. This role supports continuous improvement in project controls standards as Rising Edge continues to mature its tools, reporting, and processes.

Requirements

The responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
  • Maintain accurate project cost data, including budgets, costs to date, commitments, variances, forecasts, and cash flow tracking.
  • Develop and maintain project cost reports, forecasts, estimate-to-complete forecasts, and variance analysis, including clear commentary on key drivers and corrective actions.
  • Lead the monthly project forecast cycle, coordinating inputs, validating updates, and preparing executive-level forecast presentations and reporting.
  • Produce consolidated project financial reporting, including milestone summaries, incurred costs, accruals, cost variances, and progress-based performance metrics.
  • Collect and validate field progress information to support accurate reporting on productivity, earned progress, and cost impacts.
  • Support change management by tracking potential and approved change orders, budget impacts, and subcontractor change requests.
  • Support contracts and commercial activities, including invoicing requirements, pay applications, compliance documentation, and project setup.
  • Ensure project systems are properly maintained and aligned with contract structure, WBS, cost codes, budgets, and forecasting requirements.
  • Partner with Project Managers to identify project risks, cost exposures, mitigation actions, and key schedule impacts on cost and project execution.
  • Review and approve timesheets, identify cost allocation issues, and coordinate corrections while supporting continuous improvement of project controls processes and reporting.

What We're Looking For
  • 4+ years of experience in project controls, cost control, project accounting, or construction finance (Experience in high-voltage electrical construction, with renewable energy or heavy civil construction experience preferred.)
  • Working knowledge of cost tracking fundamentals including budget management, commitments, cost to complete forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Experience producing project financial reporting for project leadership and internal stakeholders.
  • Understanding of contract-driven invoice processes and common supporting documentation requirements.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including the ability to work with structured templates and perform accurate analysis.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage weekly deadlines across multiple projects.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with Project Managers, field teams, procurement, and accounting.
