This role is ideal for an experienced designer who combines technical leadership with design vision, leading small to medium-scale project scopes and managing teams with varying levels of experience. This individual leads the design process from concept through construction, taking responsible control over technical submissions requiring a stamp and seal when licensed.

Experience in the hospitality and gaming market sector is required, with demonstrated project involvement on resort, hotel, and/or casino project types.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead the development of design solutions, coordination, and production efforts on small to medium-scale projects through an iterative, collaborative design process
  • Lead client collaboration, delivering clear, bi-directional feedback between the internal team and client groups
  • Encourage and apply regenerative design approaches to the built, social, and natural environments
  • Support team member development and growth through thoughtful task assignment
  • Manage collaboration with consultants and contractors to achieve the best design outcomes
  • Identify potential project risks and raise concerns with the Project Manager and Project Executive
  • Participate in the project pursuit process, including preparing and reviewing proposal content and participating in interviews
  • Lead code reviews, identifying and resolving special code conditions
  • Direct the QA/QC process to ensure it's completed fully and on time
  • Lead coordination and engagement with the Specifications team
  • Lead design and validation of building envelope systems
  • Lead communication with the local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) as needed
  • Lead construction administration activities alongside other project leaders and on-site staff
  • Maintain responsible control over technical submissions requiring a signature and seal, if licensed
  • Take accountability for a complete, quality set of architectural documents that meets all contract requirements
  • Proficiently use MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, and Revit/BIM 360, with growing familiarity in Rhino, Enscape, and Lumion

What we look for:

  • 8+ years of professional architecture experience, with a focus on hospitality and/or gaming projects
  • Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch)
  • Licensed Architect preferred; actively pursuing licensure required. NCARB a plus. (Candidates who are licensed will be considered for the Project Architect title; candidates actively pursuing licensure will be considered for the Team Leader title.)
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating hospitality and/or gaming design experience, with a track record of leading projects through multiple phases
  • Experience managing small teams and supporting team members with varying levels of experience
  • Proven ability to collaborate with consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams across all phases of project delivery
  • Proficiency in Revit/BIM 360, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of visualization and modeling tools such as Rhino, Enscape, and/or Lumion
