Full Job Description
The Opportunity:

Perkins Eastman has an exciting opportunity in Seattle. We seek a highly motivated Project Manager with a combination of design talent and technical knowhow to collaboratively advance designs from pre-schematic through occupancy. The individual will bring an affinity for developing options and resolving solutions for consideration by teammates and clients. As project development is initiated, they must collaborate and coordinate with the entire design team, including designers, technical architects, engineers, equipment planning, and others.

This person will have a working knowledge of construction techniques, building codes, green building certifications and project delivery. They will bring a passion for developing optimal solutions that meet our clients• aspirations and challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Participate in project work plan and schedule development, including fee and budget requirements.
  • Multi-task to allow for development of concurrent project work.
  • Be a strong advocate for the Client's financial and schedule goals for the project.
  • Participate in negotiating and development of contractual agreements with the Owner and consulting team members.
  • Early and proactive alignment with Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
  • Prepare scope and fee proposals of varying complexity.
  • Meaningfully contribute to business development efforts in collaboration with principals leading College & University and Healthcare practice areas.
  • Implement quality control and technical assurance protocols.
  • Lead the project through all phases of development, including the construction phase.
  • Communicate regularly with Operations staff regarding the financial health of the project.
  • Establish transparent communication protocols, to ensure well-coordinated documentation of the project.
  • Mentor younger staff within the team.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor or Master of Architecture Degree
  • 8+ years' experience, plus preferred senior living practice area experience
  • Experience managing multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with project consultants
  • Thorough knowledge of State & Local building codes and referenced standards. Knowledge of Department of Health environment regulations related to assisted living and nursing homes is preferred.
  • Able to interpret, generate, communicate and present design intent and manifest that in phase-appropriate documentation
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail
  • Possessing strong interpersonal skills - working with a team that emphasizes collaboration with engineers, owners, and builders and working in a focused and mutually respectful office environment
  • Ability to manage multiple fast-paced projects and deadlines effectively
  • Proficiency with REVIT, MS Word & Excel, Adobe, & Bluebeam is required
  • Proficiency with Rhino, Navisworks, and REVIT plugins is preferred
  • CPHD, LEED and/or WELL accreditations are a plus
  • Architectural registration is strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with Newforma, Procore, and/or other construction project management software is required (training available)
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Well versed in MS Office Suite.
  • Must possess the ability to apply critical thinking, influence, and decision making within a team structure.
  • LEED and/or WELL accreditations are strongly desired.
