The Opportunity:

CACI seeks a current or aspiring engineering manager to join our rapidly growing Navy support organization. Our organization manages a multi-disciplinary portfolio of projects from across the spectrum of Research and Development (R&D) fields and requires an enthusiastic and self-motivated manager with a desire to solve customer problems and grow the portfolio. This position is an opportunity to transition into program management with complete responsibility for a portfolio of engineering projects and associated staff. This position puts you at the center of a leadership team where you will be given the autonomy and support to grow your portfolio and play a key role in the overall success of the organization with the goal of one day leading and running your own program.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow your engineering project portfolio by building relationships with existing and new customers to become their trusted source for support.

  • Engage with highly technical customers across a broad range of classical engineering disciplines to understand their technical challenges and identify organic growth opportunities.

  • Manage and balance technical resources across your portfolio by closely tracking customer needs and monitoring funding streams to ensure resource coverage. Create accurate portfolio revenue forecasts.

  • Support new business capture efforts and proposal development by leading and/or writing technical volumes.


Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science, Masters preferred.

  • 5 - 7 years of experience with engineering projects OR 3+ years experience with NSWC Carderock projects.

  • 1-3 years personnel management that includes technical roles, task management, and customer interfacing. Experience working directly with customers on technical projects.

  • Demonstrated technical writing skills

  • Takes initiative by self-educating, taking ownership of tasking, and identifying new areas of responsibility based upon team needs and individual strengths.

  • Possesses interpersonal skills necessary to initiate, build, and maintain customer relationships to maximize customer satisfaction.

  • Extremely inquisitive nature with the ability to think critically.

  • Experience managing projects, budgeting, and resource planning.


Desired:

  • Experience with proposal development.

  • Possesses technical engineering background with ability to quickly expand general engineering knowledge into more specific engineering disciplines.

  • Familiarity with NSWC CD organization, funding and management processes.

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
