Duties

The Management Analyst 4 functions independently to plan, coordinate and complete varied and complex multi-dimensional projects to meet Audit program objectives.

What you will do:
  • Locate, compile, and manage complex data, as requested by division management.
  • Perform data analytics and provide results using charts, graphs, Power BI, and PowerPoint presentations, as appropriate.
  • Produce complex reports (budget, performance measures, projects, etc) for use by diverse groups, including highest levels of management.
  • Accumulate data for performance measure monitoring/reporting and coordinate division involvement in Agency Strategic Business Plan.
  • Plan, lead, and coordinate projects regarding strategic and long-range planning activities (projects frequently have high dollar impact on budget and/or revenue collections).
  • Make recommendations and participate in the development of division strategies.

The Management Analyst 4 will also:
  • Draft and communicate changes to affected Audit staff and ensure any changes are properly documented in division and/or agency manuals and records.
  • Use Lean principles to identify, recommend, and participate in developing division strategies for process and organizational improvements.
  • Conduct complex research and analysis, providing recommendations and consultation to management and participating in decisions regarding multidimensional issues that impact the division, agency, taxpayers and businesses.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance and implementation of divisional guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the maintenance and posting of content and research tools on Audit's SharePoint page.

Qualifications
The required qualifications are key competencies that have been successfully demonstrated through experience or education in the following areas:
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage complex analytical work, gained through progressively responsible experience coordinating multifaceted projects, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines.
Proven ability to lead work independently and drive positive change, shown through experience solving complex problems, making sound decisions, and taking calculated risks in professional settings.
Progressive experience applying advanced communication skills to convey information clearly to individuals at varying organizational levels, supported by experience facilitating meetings, building relationships, and representing program or agency priorities.
Proven ability to analyze and interpret data from multiple sources gained through experience applying technical knowledge, objective reasoning, and critical thinking to produce recommendations or solutions.
Demonstrated skill using analytical tools and technology, including developing or maintaining reports in advanced Excel or Power BI, gained through hands on experience supporting business or operational needs.
Progressive experience incorporating new technical knowledge and pursuing continuous learning gained through training, professional development, or experience applying new skills to improve processes and outcomes.
Demonstrated professional conduct and accountability, shown through experience maintaining confidentiality, modeling respectful and inclusive interactions, and consistently representing organizational values in workplace relationships.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective internal and external partnerships, evidenced by experience networking, collaborating across units, and supporting team or organizational goals.

  • Any combination of professional experience or education, such as:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, accounting, or related field.
  • Four years of experience conducting research and analyzing policies, laws, rules, regulations; OR
  • Comparable combination of graduate education and experience.
  • Additional relevant experience may be substituted year for year for education.

Advanced knowledge of:
  • Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerBI, and PowerPoint.
