Responsibilities

  • Serve as accounting and finance resource for technical teams on assigned projects
  • Review contracts for financial and reporting requirements
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure accuracy of job costs and earnings
  • Generate invoices based on contract terms and input from project managers
  • Manage accounts receivable collection and reconcile cash receipts
  • Prepare ad hoc reports for project managers and management
  • Monitor project budget progress and make improvement recommendations
  • Verify vendor invoices for adherence to contract terms
  • Advise on accounting best practices including GAAP compliance
  • Maintain organized accounting files and records

The Project Accountant is responsible for maintaining and managing finances for Project Managers and Principals across all offices at SGH.

What You'll Be Doing:
• Serve as accounting and finance resource for technical professionals on assigned projects.
• Review contracts and other project documents for financial and reporting requirements.
• Work closely with project managers and principals to ensure accuracy and proper accounting for job costs and earnings.
• Generate invoices and supporting documentation based on contract terms and input from project managers and principals.
• Manage collection of accounts receivable and reconciliation of cash receipts.
• Prepare ad hoc reports and provide detailed and timely financial information to project managers, principals, and company management.
• Monitor and analyze progress against budget and make recommendations to improve project performance.
• Verify subcontractor and vendor invoices to ensure adherence to contract terms.
• Advise on accounting best practices and act as authority on and within the context of GAAP and the firm's internal accounting policies and procedures.
• Maintain accounting files and records.
What You'll Need:

Compensation:

The below range is a good faith estimate pursuant to applicable equal pay and pay transparency laws. The actual salary offered will be based on several factors including the candidate's experience, qualifications and work location.

Base salary is a part of SGH's industry leading Total Compensation package. Our Total Compensation package includes base salary, pay for extra hours worked, an annual discretionary bonus program, generous paid time off, and health and wellness benefits with a special emphasis on substantial SGH contributions to medical insurance premiums and SGH's Profit Sharing & 401(k) Plan.

This position is eligible for a $3,000 sign-on bonus.

Operations Role:
