The ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) Reporting & Compliance Advisor plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of ESG data through robust processes and controls. This position involves developing and maintaining comprehensive ESG reporting practices, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and leading initiatives to improve ESG data management and reporting efficiency.
Essential Functions- Governance and Control Framework: Assists in establishing a governance and control framework that ensures the integrity and accuracy of ESG reporting.
- Internal Control Program: Helps implement and maintain an ESG internal control program, including process mapping, risk assessment, and control evaluation. Communicates requirements and best practices.
- Data Accuracy and Compliance: Ensures ESG data is materially correct in compliance with internal controls and that internal control risks are tested and documented in accordance with FedEx standards.
- ESG Disclosure Preparation: Assists in the development and preparation of ESG disclosure reports, focusing on process efficiency and data accuracy.
- Policy Development: Develops and updates ESG accounting and reporting policies for use by relevant stakeholders, ensuring these policies are effective and well-documented.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partners with various stakeholders to drive strategic ESG initiatives, ensuring alignment between disclosures and corporate strategy.
- Data Management: Collaborates with internal stakeholders to gather, analyze, and verify data needed for ESG reporting. Summarizes and distributes relevant reports, ensuring data integrity.
- Expertise in ESG Reporting: Acts as the subject matter expert on ESG reporting processes and controls, ensuring the data is accurate and reliable.
- Regulatory Awareness: Stays informed about changes to ESG reporting regulations, standards, and disclosure requirements. Communicates updates to stakeholders and implements necessary changes to policies and processes.
- Leadership in Initiatives: Leads internal and cross-functional teams on major initiatives/projects, including process improvement in controls and testing, regulatory compliance, and policy. Recommends innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Minimum Education- Bachelor's Degree/equivalent in business, accounting, finance, sustainability or a similar discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum Experience- Five (5) years professional experience in SOX compliance, sustainability and ESG disclosures, financial reporting, or auditing and assurance or related area.
Knowledge, skills and abilities- Proactive individual with strong analytical skills to ensure the accuracy and integrity of ESG reporting.
- Effective communication and collaboration with diverse teams to drive the company's ESG initiatives and maintain a robust control environment.
Preferred:- Financial or sustainability certifications (CPA, CFA, CSP, GRI, SASB)
Preferred Qualifications: This position is eligible for remote work and may be located anywhere within the following states: Arkansas, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virgina, and Wisconsin, excluding AK, HI and U.S. territories, however if you live within the 50 miles radius of a campus you will be required to work at a FedEx campus location several times per week.
Pay Transparency: Pay: $5,638.08 USD/Monthly - $12,967.57 USD/Monthly
