Full Job Description
Position Overview

Covenant Health is seeking a Program Medical Lead (PML), Emergency Medicine/Ambulatory Care Clinic to provide clinical and strategic leadership within the Emergency Department at St. Mary's Hospital.

The PML works closely with the Facility Medical Director, operational leaders, and provincial partners to support high-quality, patient-centered emergency care for Camrose and surrounding communities.

This is an opportunity to lead Emergency Medicine/Ambulatory Care Clinic in a community-based hospital, contributing to quality care, system improvement, and a strong, collaborative physician team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical leadership for the Emergency Department, including oversight of the Ambulatory Care clinic, chairing physician meetings and supporting team communication, mentorship, and engagement
  • Act as a liaison between physicians, site leadership, and system partners
  • Partner with operations to address patient flow, access, and service delivery planning
  • Lead and support quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence-informed practice
  • Assist in managing physician concerns in collaboration with Medical Leadership
  • Support physician recruitment, onboarding, and retention


Promote effective use of Connect Care (EMR)

Qualifications
  • Licensed (or eligible) with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta
  • Active (or eligible) Covenant Health Medical Staff member
  • Experience in Emergency Medicine (rural/community experience preferred)
  • Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills


Term & Compensation

  • Time commitment varies by program needs
