Summary

This job opportunity is for an PROGRAM MANAGER (MISSION SUPPORT OFFICER), position description D1641P01, within the 177th MSG of the NJNG. This VA is a Title 32, Excepted Service position.

This is a DUEL posting with AGR 88-AF-26 Commander and must have Air War College completed

The purpose is to serve as the tenant base MSG Commander, with a working knowledge of, and responsibility for directing some, but not the full complement of infrastructure operations of an aviation base.

As an PROGRAM MANAGER (MISSION SUPPORT OFFICER), GS-0340-13, you will:

  • Provides group level direction and management for work characterized as infrastructure support for organizations of a tenant ANG base.
  • Assist the Mission Support Group Commander to implement the host Mission Support Group portion of the Designed Operational Capability (DOC) statement of the unit and/or the Emergency War Orders (EWO).
  • Monitor the unit Status of Resources and Training Systems (SORTS) and AEF Reporting Tool (ART) reports for all mission support functions to reflect unit mission capability under wartime conditions.
  • Ensures host Base Services support is available to the tenant ANG wing for mission requirements and base wide needs.
  • Oversee the management and direction of the host Mission Support and Military Personnel Flights.
  • Provide oversight of base-wide logistics readiness functions, to include supply, transportation/traffic management, vehicle operations and maintenance, fuels management, and logistics plans and programs, to ensure the primary peacetime and wartime flying mission of the wing/base is supported at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

General Experience:

Experience, education or training in managing or directing, one or more programs, including appropriate supporting service organizations. Supervisory, managerial, professional or technical work experience and/or training which has provided knowledge of management principles, practices, methods and techniques. Experience using computer and automation systems.

Specialized Experience:

Must have at least 36 months experience analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions; preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence; evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various resources; Must have knowledge of the organization and its mission and utilized the organizational staff procedures. Experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions.

Security Clearance

Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance within 1(One) Year of appointment.
